The World Series of Poker released the names of the final 10 nominees who will be on the ballot for the WSOP Poker Hall of Fame class of 2010. From July 1 until Aug. 31, fans cast their votes on WSOP.com and entered the names of the players they believed should be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Three of poker’s major tours — the WSOP Circuit, European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour — are in action this week offering tournaments in very diverse locations. No matter where players may be around the world, there seems to be a poker game around the corner.

Laak recovering after ATV accident

Phil Laak suffered many broken bones and severe injuries after a recent ATV accident in Washington, but he’s been through the surgeries, and now he’s back on the felt.

Andrew Frankenberger with 2010 World Poker Tour Legends of Poker

Andy Frankenberger entered the final table with the chip lead at the World Poker Tour stop at the Bicycle Casino. Nearly 12 hours later, he would finally stand up from the table with all the chips and money in hand as the newest WPT champion. Frankenberger earned $750,000 in prize money, plus a $25,000 seat into the WPT Championship by winning this event. It was only Frankenberger’s second World Poker Tour event. After his victory he acknowledged he’ll be playing in a lot more.
